In the area of motors, Baumüller is presenting several updates to successful series. The synchronous motors DS2 + expand the existing series of powerful main drives by a higher speed range. In sizes 100 and 132, maximum speeds of up to 5000 min-1 and nominal speeds of up to 4500 min-1 are now possible. The new variants are interesting, for example, for injection molding machines or printing and textile machines.
In terms of dynamics, Baumüller was also able to make significant gains with its new variant of the DSD2-100 servo motors. With an additional length, the developers were able to significantly expand the torque and power spectrum. With high torque requirements, a larger size does not have to be used, which would have a negative impact on the dynamics. With the DSD2-100 servo motors in the new overall length, Baumüller now offers peak torques of up to 400 Nm with excellent acceleration properties in a package for, for example, textile and injection molding machines.
Efficient and scalable servomotors
Baumüller offers drive systems with nominal torques of up to 60,000 Nm and has years of experience in equipping forming machines, plastics machines and shredders. The multi-pole DST2 high-torque motors from Baumüller are used as direct drives in numerous branches of industrial mechanical engineering and mobile drive technology.
In addition, Baumüller offers its servo drives b maXX 5000 as stackable axes or as powerful mono devices that can be used individually or in combination with outputs of up to 800 A. The compact devices are designed for use, for example, in presses, plastics machines or test stands and are also available as a system with torque motors with multiple windings. This means that several converters can control one motor in parallel, so that motors in the megawatt power range can be controlled with converters from Baumüller. For particularly high peak loads, Baumüller implements systems with a DC link network that intercept the process-related peaks and thus keep the connected load and thus the operator's energy costs low. The DC link network also enables energy to be fed back in generator mode, for example on test benches.
b maXX servo drives for high performance
The new control technology will be a highlight at the Baumüller booth. The b maXX PLC combines properties of industrial PCs and PLC controls and thus optimally covers the area between these existing solutions.
The b maXX PLC is available in two versions: The b maXX PLC mc controls motion control applications and, in combination with the extensive Baumüller technology libraries, enables high-performance automation tasks to be implemented quickly. With the Industry 4.0 variant b maXX PLC IoT, data can be collected directly on the machine, preprocessed and output to other end devices or the cloud.
The flexible control platform
Baumüller Anlagen-Systemtechnik announces its partnership with SESTO Robotics from Singapore for the digital Hannover Messe 2021. Baumüller is adding innovative AMR solutions to its portfolio. The AMRs can be flexibly equipped with different superstructures up to 300 kg and increase productivity in production and logistics through shorter walking distances, faster transport times and flexibility in the use of materials and tools.
