Powerful drive solutions for more power and energy efficiency
High-performing drive components are used in metal forming, in particular. One combination, consisting of a b maXX servo inverter and a DST2 series high-torque motor, is primarily suited for press applications with high requirements for nominal and maximum torque.
DST2 high-torque motors achieve very high maximum torque levels, to deliver the power needed for the pressing process. The motors can be perfectly adapted to the press’s requirements thanks to different shaft and flange options.
New mono devices in the b maXX 6500 family are even more compact, thanks to their excellent power density. This makes it possible to have even smaller, and overall fewer control cabinets. Where two size 7 servo drives were required for a press application in the past, for instance, thanks to the higher performance of the new b maXX 6500 inverter generation, two size 6 devices can now be used.
We offer you the right solution for every application requirement. We have developed a variety of servo motor series to ensure this. These have been in use by numerous customers for many years and differ enormously with respect to their performance data. DSD2 servo motors are powerful, dynamic and have a very wide range of nominal speeds. On the other hand, DSC servo motors are impressively compact.
Servo-hydraulics: Energy-saving pressure and volume flow regulation
When a flexible solution is needed to control pressure and volume flow rate, a servo-hydraulic drive is the right answer.
Baumüller's servo pump combines the advantages of hydraulic power transmission with the benefits of electric servo drive technology. Servo pump drives for the hydraulic supply consist of a fixed displacement pump driven by a servo motor. The flow rate and pressure can be controlled precisely by highly dynamic changes to the motor speed. If neither flow rate nor pressure are required, the motor stops and does not consume any energy.
Servo-eccentric presses
Compared with conventional hydraulic or mechanical presses, servo-eccentric presses provide considerable advantages, such as increased productivity and higher product quality. Furthermore, they offer the user enormous additional flexibility. Consisting of both control and drive technology, the Baumüller system solution gives you the advantages of a servo press while at the same time providing an instantly usable and flexible solution for your machine.
Servo-hydraulic presses
Hydraulic presses have substantial advantages compared to conventional mechanical presses, such as higher tonnages, longer stroke lengths and a compacter design. Furthermore, they offer the user enormous additional flexibility. However, conventional hydraulic presses fed by standard motors have poorer energy efficiency. With the Baumüller drive solution consisting of highly dynamic servo motors and compact converters, you not only benefit from the advantages of the hydraulics, but also from the efficiency of the servo drive technology.
Press brakes
The most important criteria for die folding machines and accordingly press brakes is high machine availability, as well as speed while maintaining excellent precision. The drive of the main axis used to move the plunger is moved either electrically or hydraulically. Whether you choose fully electric or servo-hydraulic main drive – with Baumüller, you benefit from our many years of experience as a drive and automation manufacturer in machine equipment.
Spindle presses
