Automation for all Areas of Mechanical Engineering
Baumüller presents drive and automation solutions at the Swedish trade fair Elmia Automation
Since the start of the year, a subsidiary of the drive and automation specialist Baumüller, Baumüller Scandinavia ApS, has been taking care of all customers in the Scandinavian region. From May 15-18, 2018, interested parties can find out more about the solutions from the German group at the Elmia Automation trade fair in Jönköping, Sweden at booth D05:56.

Components and Systems
Baumüller covers the entire life cycle of machines and systems, from components to software to the complete system, to maintenance and service. In addition to traditional industrial systems, such as packaging machines, printing machines and presses, Baumüller solutions are also used in mobile commercial vehicles and work machines.
At the trade fair stand, Baumüller will be exhibiting a selection of the comprehensive product range of motors and converters, including the multi-axis controller b maXX 5800, which is suitable for controlling up to six axes. The decentralized drive concept b maXX 2500 is of interest for modular systems or systems with many individual drives. The combination of servomotor and converter is available with a voltage supply of up to 780 V, impresses with integrates safety technology and allows for a flexible installation position. The electronics placed near the drive also results in savings due to the reduced wiring effort.
With torque of up to 75,000 Nm, the DST2 range can offer an efficient alternative to hydraulic solutions With one of the broadest portfolios of motors on the market, Baumüller has the right electric motor for almost any application. Of particular interest at the trade fair is the presentation of the new servomotor series DSH, which with a particularly low cogging torque meets the highest standards for precision and running smoothness. Baumüller offers a powerful solution with the maintenance-free and efficient direct drives of the DST2 series, which with a torque of up to 75,000 Nm even offer an electric alternative to hydraulic applications.
Software and Services
Baumüller is introducing BAUDIS IoT at Elmia Automation as a novelty in Industry 4.0. The system is used for predictive maintenance and for production optimization and can be integrated in new machines as well as retrofitted in existing systems. In a broad overview, the system consists of sensors, a BAUDIS IoT box and software for evaluating smart data using special algorithms. The sensors record the motor state, for example, and can thus report bearing damage, detect the wear of mechanical components at an early stage or provide information for process optimization or machine utilization.
In addition to hardware, Baumüller also offers extensive expertise and numerous software solutions thanks to its many years of experience. With pre-programmed library modules, it is quick and easy to program individual machine solutions from a single source in the in-house Engineering Framework ProMaster.
