With the new b maXX 6800 servo drives, Baumüller offers an efficient solution for high power ranges

At SPS Smart Production Solutions in Nuremberg from November 25 to 27, 2025, Baumüller will present its new servo drives specifically for high power. In Hall 1 at Booth 560, the drive specialist will present an attractive solution especially for manufacturers of electric injection molding machines and extruders as well as for forming technology, which reduces the connected load and thus operating costs.

The b maXX 6800 are part of the current b maXX 6000 series and, similar to the mono-axis units b maXX 6500, are designed for high power. They complement the existing portfolio, as unlike the mono-axis units they are not connected directly to the power supply, but to the DC link. The advantage here is that short-term load peaks do not affect the level of the connected load and therefore do not drive up the connection price for the operator. The b maXX 6800 can be used in combination with the b maXX 6500 mono-axis units. Eliminating the infeed creates a cost-optimized variant for higher power levels.

The b maXX 6800 cover a power range from 40 to 315 kW in three frame sizes, 4, 5, and 6. Numerous cooling options enable optimal adaptation to the requirements of the application. By using through-panel mounting, for example, the power loss in the control cabinet can be reduced. In many cases, costly cabinet cooling and air conditioning can be dispensed with. The water cooling option reduces the footprint and enables economical control cabinet layouts.
