Privacy policy for our social media pages

When you visit our social media pages, personal data is processed. We would therefore like to inform you below, in accordance with Art. 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO), about how we handle your data and your rights resulting from this.

We, Baumueller India Pvt. Ltd., Laxmi Shantiban, round + 1st Floor, Sr.No. 1/5, 1/6, Beside Walnut School, Shivane, NDA Road, Taluka Haveli, 411023 Pune, operate the following social media pages:

- LinkedIn:

We are responsible in part and the respective operators of the network platforms ("platforms") in part for the data collection and processing described below. For certain processing operations, we and the platform operators also act as joint controllers within the meaning of Art. 26 DSGVO (processing operations pursuant to section 3).

Further contact details can be found in the imprint.

2.Purpose of data processing by us / legal basis

a) Our presence on social networks

Purpose of data processing by us / legal basis:

The purpose of data processing by us on our sites is to inform customers about offers, products, services, promotions, competitions, factual topics, company news and to interact with visitors to the presences on these topics, as well as to respond to corresponding queries, praise or criticism.

We only reserve the right to delete content if this should be necessary. Where applicable, we share your content on our site if this is a function of the platform and communicate with you via the platform. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) DSGVO. The data processing is carried out in the interest of our public relations and communication.

The operator has no influence on the processing of your data by Baumüller in the context of customer communication or competitions.

As already stated, we take care to design our pages as data protection compliant as possible at those points where the platform provider gives us the opportunity to do so.

Recipients/categories of recipients:

The data entered by you on our pages, such as comments, videos, pictures, likes, public messages, etc., are published for this purpose by the platform and are not used or processed by us for any other purpose at any time. We only reserve the right to delete illegal content if this should be necessary. This is the case, for example, with infringing or illegal posts, hate comments, lewd comments (explicitly sexual content) or attachments (e.g. images or videos) that may violate copyrights, personal rights, criminal laws or the ethical principles of Baumüller.

We may share your content on our site if this is a function of the platform and communicate via the social networks. If you send us a request on the platform, we may also refer you to other secure communication channels that guarantee confidentiality, depending on the required response. You always have the option of sending us confidential enquiries to our address mentioned under point 1 or in the imprint.

With regard to data that you send to us in a confidential manner (e.g. by private message, letter or e-mail), we generally exclude passing on the data to third parties outside the Baumüller Group. Exceptionally, data is processed on our behalf by order processors. These are carefully selected in each case, are also audited by us and are contractually obligated in accordance with Art. 28 DSGVO. Furthermore, it may be necessary for us to pass on extracts of your confidential enquiry to contractual partners (e.g. suppliers in the case of product-specific enquiries) in order to process your enquiry. In these cases, however, the enquiry is anonymised beforehand so that the third party cannot establish any reference to you. If it is necessary to pass on your personal information in individual cases, we will inform you of this beforehand and obtain your consent.

Storage period/criteria for determining the storage period:

All personal information that you send us by secure message in response to enquiries (suggestions, praise or criticism) will be deleted or securely anonymised by us no later than 90 days after the final reply has been sent to you. The retention period of 90 days is due to the fact that it may occasionally happen that you, as a customer, contact us again about the same matter after a reply and we then have to be able to refer to the previous correspondence. Experience has shown that, as a rule, after 90 days, queries about our replies no longer occur.

All public posts by you on this site will remain in the timeline indefinitely unless we delete them due to an update of the underlying topic, a violation of the law or our guidelines, or you delete the post yourself.

We have no means of influencing the deletion of your data by the operator itself. Therefore, the data protection provisions of the respective operator apply in addition.

b) Social Listening and Social Media Monitoring

Purposes of data processing/legal basis:

In addition to the information you provide to us directly via the platform, we also use so-called social listening and social media monitoring to get a picture of the perception of our products and services, to be able to evaluate our marketing activities and to identify any potential for improvement. In this process, posts on platforms are evaluated according to a search request (e.g. for a product line) or certain key figures (e.g. views, number of clicks). Only those posts that have been freely made available by you to an unrestricted public are viewed.

The scope of the data collected is primarily determined by the type and content of the respective contribution; for example, a posting in text form or an uploaded image file may be affected. In individual cases, the user ID used in each case may also become relevant; for example, if Baumüller would like to offer help with any problems. In some cases, we also receive information from the respective platform operators about the reach of the posts in question.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data in the context of social listening is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) DSGVO, because we have a legitimate interest in being able to identify any shortcomings of our products and services in freely viewable comments and to respond appropriately to them.

Recipients/categories of recipients:

If we use external processors for social listening or social media monitoring, they are contractually obliged to do so in accordance with Article 28 of the GDPR.

Storage period/ criteria for determining the storage period:

The relevant data is not stored permanently by Baumüller, but is only analysed specifically with regard to potentially required countermeasures.

3.Data processing under joint responsibility

We are jointly responsible for some of the processing activities with the respective operator of the social media platform.

Accordingly, we have entered into the necessary agreement pursuant to Art. 26 DSGVO, provided that the operator of the social media platform allows this.

4.Data processing by the operator of the social media platform

The operator of the social media platform uses web tracking methods. Web tracking can also take place regardless of whether you are logged in or registered with the social media platform.

We would therefore like to point out that it cannot be ruled out that the operator of the social media platform uses and evaluates your profile and behavioural data for its own purposes. We have no influence on the processing of your data by the operator of the social media platform. Please bear this in mind when using the social media platform.

You can find more information on data processing by the operator of the social media platform, configuration options for protecting your privacy as well as further objection options in the operator's privacy policy (see section 3).

5.Processing of data in a third country

If we transfer data to recipients in a third country (located outside the European Economic Area), you can see this in the information on recipients/categories of recipients within the description of the respective data processing. Some third countries are certified by the European Commission through so-called adequacy decisions as having a data protection standard that is comparable to the level in the European Economic Area. A list of these countries can be found at If there is no comparable data protection standard in a country, we ensure that data protection is sufficiently guaranteed by other measures. This is possible, for example, through binding company regulations, standard contractual clauses of the European Commission for the protection of personal data, certificates or recognised codes of conduct. Please contact our data protection officer (section 7) if you would like more information on this.

Your use of the platform may also result in your data being processed in a third country (located outside the European Economic Area) by the platform operator. Further information on the processing of your data in a third country, over which Baumüller has no influence, can be found in the aforementioned data protection declarations of the platform operators. 6.

6.Your rights as a user

As a user, you have the possibility to assert the following rights against us as well as against the operator of the social media platform, if the requirements are met:

Right to information (Art. 15 DSGVO)

You have the right to request without undue delay the rectification of any inaccurate personal data concerning you and, where applicable, the completion of any incomplete personal data. You also have the right to request that personal data concerning you be deleted without undue delay if one of the reasons listed in detail in Article 17 of the GDPR applies, e.g. if the data is no longer required for the purposes pursued.

Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 DSGVO)

You have the right to request the restriction of processing if one of the conditions listed in Art. 18 DSGVO applies, e.g. if you have objected to the processing, for the duration of any review.

In certain cases, which are listed in detail in Art. 20 DSGVO, you have the right to receive the personal data concerning you in a structured, common and machine-readable format or to request the transfer of this data to a third party.

Right of objection (Art. 21 DSGVO)

If data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) DSGVO, you have the right to object to the processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process the personal data unless there are demonstrably compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the purpose of asserting, exercising or defending legal claims.

If the data is processed on the basis of legitimate interest for the purpose of direct marketing, you have your own right of objection, which you can assert at any time without giving reasons and the exercise of which leads to the termination of processing for the purpose of direct marketing.
