Privacy policy for our social media pages
When you visit our social media pages, personal data is processed. We would therefore like to inform you below, in accordance with Art. 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO), about our handling of your data and your rights resulting from this.
1.Responsibility
We, Baumüller Nürnberg GmbH , Ostendstraße 80-90, 90482 Nuremberg (Germany), operate the following social media sites:
- LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/baumueller-nuernberg-gmbh
- YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/BaumuellerGroup
- XING: https://www.xing.com/pages/baumullergruppe/news
We are responsible in part and the respective operators of the network platforms ("platforms") in part for the data collection and processing described below. For certain processing operations, we and the platform operators also act as joint controllers within the meaning of Art. 26 DSGVO (processing operations pursuant to section 3).
Further contact details can be found in the imprint.
2.Purpose of data processing by us / Legal basis
a) Our presences on social networks.
Purpose of data processing by us / legal basis:
The purpose of data processing by us on our sites is to inform customers about offers, products, services, promotions, competitions, factual topics, company news and to interact with visitors to the presences on these topics, as well as to respond to corresponding queries, praise or criticism.
We only reserve the right to delete content if this should be necessary. If applicable, we share your content on our site if this is a function of the platform and communicate with you via the platform. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) DSGVO. The data processing is carried out in the interest of our public relations and communication.
The operator has no influence on the processing of your data by Baumüller in the context of customer communication or competitions.
As already stated, we take care at the points where the platform provider gives us the opportunity to design our pages to be as data protection-compliant as possible.
Recipients/categories of recipients:
The data entered by you on our pages, such as comments, videos, images, likes, public messages, etc., are published for this purpose by the platform and are not used or processed by us for any other purpose at any time. We only reserve the right to delete illegal content if this should be necessary. This is the case, for example, with infringing or illegal posts, hate comments, suggestive comments (explicitly sexual content) or attachments (e.g. images or videos) that may violate copyrights, personal rights, criminal laws or the ethical principles of Baumüller.
If applicable, we share your content on our site if this is a function of the platform and communicate via the social networks. If you submit a request to us on the platform, we may also refer you to other secure communication channels that guarantee confidentiality, depending on the required response. You always have the option to send us confidential inquiries to our address mentioned in section 1 or in the imprint.
With regard to data that you send to us in a confidential manner (e.g. by private message, letter or e-mail), we generally rule out passing on the data to third parties outside the Baumüller Group. Exceptionally, data is processed on our behalf by order processors. These are carefully selected in each case and are also audited by us and contractually obligated in accordance with Art. 28 DSGVO. Furthermore, it may be necessary for us to pass on extracts of your confidential inquiry to contractual partners (e.g. suppliers in the case of product-specific inquiries) in order to process your inquiry. In these cases, however, the inquiry is anonymized beforehand so that the third party cannot establish any reference to you. If it is necessary to pass on your personal information in individual cases, we will inform you of this in advance and obtain your consent.
Storage period/ criteria for determining the storage period:
All personal information that you provide to us in response to inquiries (suggestions, praise or criticism) via secure message will be deleted or securely anonymized by us no later than 90 days after the final response has been provided to you. The retention of 90 days is explained by the fact that it may occasionally happen that you, as a customer, contact us again about the same matter after a reply and we then have to be able to refer to the previous correspondence. Experience has shown that, as a rule, after 90 days, queries about our answers no longer occur.
All public posts by you on this site will remain in the timeline indefinitely unless we delete them due to an update of the underlying topic, a violation of law or our guidelines, or you delete the post yourself.
With regard to the deletion of your data by the operator itself, we have no means of influencing this. Therefore, the data protection provisions of the respective operator apply in addition.
b) Social listening and Social media monitoring
Purposes of data processing/legal basis:
In addition to the information you provide to us directly via the platform, we continue to use so-called social listening and social media monitoring to get a picture of the perception of our products and services, to be able to evaluate our marketing activities and to identify any potential for improvement. This involves evaluating posts on platforms according to a search request (e.g., for a product line) or certain key figures (e.g., views, number of clicks). Only those posts that have been freely made available to an unrestricted public by you will be viewed.
The scope of the collected data is primarily determined by the type and content of the respective contribution; for example, a posting in text form or an uploaded image file may be affected. In individual cases, the user ID used in each case may also become relevant; for example, if Baumüller would like to offer help with any problems. In some cases, we also receive information from the respective platform operators about the reach of the contributions in question.
The legal basis for the processing of personal data in the context of social listening is Art. 6 (1) f) DSGVO, because we have a legitimate interest in being able to identify any shortcomings of our products and services in freely viewable comments and to respond appropriately to them.
Recipients/categories of recipients:
If we use external order processors in the context of social listening or social media monitoring, these are contractually obligated in accordance with Article 28 DSGVO.
Storage period/ criteria for determining the storage period:
The relevant data is not stored permanently by Baumüller, but only analyzed specifically with regard to potentially required countermeasures.
3.Data processing under joint responsibility.
We are jointly responsible for some of the processing activities with the respective operator of the social media platform.
Accordingly, we have entered into the required agreement pursuant to Art. 26 DSGVO, provided that the operator of the social media platform allows this.

4.Data processing by the operator of the social media platform
The operator of the social media platform uses web tracking methods. The web tracking can also take place regardless of whether you are logged in or registered with the social media platform.
We would therefore like to point out that it cannot be ruled out that the operator of the social media platform uses and evaluates your profile and behavioral data for its own purposes. We have no influence on the processing of your data by the operator of the social media platform. Please take this into account when using the social media platform.
You can find more information on data processing by the operator of the social media platform, configuration options for protecting your privacy, and further objection options in the operator's privacy policy (see section 3).
5.Processing of data in a third country
If we transfer data to recipients in a third country (located outside the European Economic Area), you can see this in the information on recipients/categories of recipients within the description of the respective data processing. Some third countries are certified by the European Commission through so-called adequacy decisions to have a data protection standard that is comparable to the level in the European Economic Area. A list of these countries can be found at https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/law-topic/data-protection/international-dimension-data-protection/adequacy-decisions_en. If a country does not have a comparable data protection standard, we ensure that data protection is adequately guaranteed by other measures. This is possible, for example, through binding company regulations, standard contractual clauses of the European Commission for the protection of personal data, certificates, or recognized codes of conduct. Please contact our data protection officer (section 7) if you would like more information on this.
If applicable, your use of the platform may also result in the processing of your data in a third country (located outside the European Economic Area) by the platform operator. For more detailed information on the processing of your data in a third country, over which Baumüller has no influence, please refer to the aforementioned data protection declarations of the platform operators.
6.Your rights as a user
As a user, you have the opportunity to assert the following rights against us as well as against the operator of the social media platform if the requirements are met:
Right to information (Art. 15 DSGVO).
You have the right to request confirmation as to whether personal data relating to you is being processed; if this is the case, you have a right to information about this personal data and to the information listed in detail in Art. 15 DSGVO.
Right to rectification and erasure (Art. 16 and 17 DSGVO).
You have the right to request without undue delay the rectification of any inaccurate personal data concerning you and, where applicable, the completion of any incomplete personal data. You also have the right to request that personal data concerning you be deleted without undue delay if one of the reasons listed in detail in Article 17 of the GDPR applies, e.g. if the data is no longer required for the purposes pursued.
Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 DSGVO).
You have the right to request the restriction of processing if one of the conditions listed in Art. 18 DSGVO applies, e.g. if you have objected to the processing, for the duration of any review.
Right to data portability (Art. 20 DSGVO).
In certain cases, which are listed in detail in Art. 20 DSGVO, you have the right to receive the personal data concerning you in a structured, common and machine-readable format or to request the transfer of this data to a third party.
Right to object (Art. 21 DSGVO).
If data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO, you have the right to object to the processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process the personal data unless there are demonstrably compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the purpose of asserting, exercising or defending legal claims.
If the data is processed on the basis of legitimate interest for the purpose of direct marketing, you have your own right to object, which you can exercise at any time without giving reasons and the exercise of which leads to the termination of processing for the purpose of direct marketing.
Right of withdrawal (Art. 7 DSGVO)
If the processing of data is based on your consent, you are entitled to revoke your consent to the use of your personal data at any time in accordance with Art. 7 (3) DSGVO. Please note that the revocation is only effective for the future. Processing that took place before the revocation is not affected.
Right of appeal to a supervisory authority
Pursuant to Art. 77 DSGVO, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you are of the opinion that the processing of data concerning you violates data protection provisions. The right of complaint may be asserted in particular before a supervisory authority in the Member State of your residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.
